Whether you're preparing for a special occasion or exploring our collection for the first time, this page is here to guide you through everything you need to know about hiring a hat from us. From hire durations and return policies to security bonds and last-minute bookings, we’ve answered your most commonly asked questions to help make the process simple, seamless, and stress-free.

You can browse our full hire collection here. Once you’ve chosen your preferred style, simply select your hire duration and dates, and agree to our Hiring Terms & Conditions. 

At checkout, your hire booking and a £150 refundable security bond will be confirmed. Enjoy your hat for your event and return it by your agreed date.

We offer three hire options to suit your schedule:

  • London Hire (Same-day return)
    Ideal for those based in London or attending events nearby. Pick up or receive the hat in the morning and return it by 6pm the same day. Return times may be extended during busy periods (e.g. Ascot week).

  • Standard Hire (3 days)
    Perfect for one-day events if you're not local. We recommend starting your hire the day before your event to ensure timely delivery. The hat must be returned by Day 3.
    Example: For an event on Wednesday 4th June, hire from Tuesday 3rd and return by Thursday 5th.

  • Extended Hire (7 days)
    Best suited for multiple events or destination weddings. Follows the same process as Standard Hire, with a longer return window of 7 days. 

A £150 refundable security bond is automatically added at checkout for ALL hire bookings. 

Your security bond will automatically be refunded to you upon safe return of the hat, as long as the hat is in pristine condition. Due to the limited availability of our hats and expensive materials used to construct them, your security bond will be forfeited if the hat is returned late, damaged (e.g. makeup stained or rain damaged), or lost. 

In the lead-up and duration of Royal Ascot, from the 5th-22nd June, it is only possible to do SAME-DAY RETURN unless discussed with us. If you require one of our pieces for longer than 1 day then please call the studio and we will do our best to accommodate. 

We will be open from 8am to 10pm during the week of Ascot, 13th-20th June. Please contact us to arrange collection or delivery (London only). Collection can be made late the night before, subject to if it is out on rental already, or early the morning of your hire. 

Regarding returns, if your hat is being rented out the following day (we shall let you know and discuss timings), then your hat MUST be with us by the latest 8:30am if you are unable to get it to us the evening before.

If a hat is lost or damaged beyond repair, you will be charged up to the full retail value of the piece, minus the £150 security bond already forfeited. You will find the retail value listed on each product page under ‘Important Information’. 

Each hire is for a single agreed period. We offer 3 hire durations (see question 2 for more information).

If you wish to hire a hat for more than 7 days, please contact us before booking to arrange extended hire terms and applicable fees. 

Currently, we only offer hat hire within the UK due to the delicate nature of our pieces and the logistics of international returns. For international customers, please contact the team to discuss potential options. Please note, additional fees will apply. 

All returns must be returned to our studio address on or before your return date.

Postal returns must be sent via recorded delivery and securely packaged using the original materials, including the JCM hat box. Failure to return the JCM hat box will result in a £15 deduction from your security bond.

Note: All postage costs (both to and from you) are additional to (not included in) the hire fee.

Late returns will result in forfeiture of your security bond. This policy helps us honour back-to-back bookings, especially during busy periods such as Ascot. 

Yes, in-person appointments are available at our Notting Hill studio. For remote customers, we offer virtual consultations to help you choose the perfect hat.

Please note: All hire bookings are final - no refunds are issued if you change your mind or choose not to wear the hat.

All bookings are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure, we encourage visiting our studio or booking a virtual appointment for guidance before confirming your hire.

We’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests. For up-to-date availability, check the product page of your chosen hat. Availability is limited during peak periods.

Of course! We understand you'll want to look your best. Just take care when handling the hat to avoid staining or damage.

Any such damage will result in loss of your security bond, and further charges may apply if the hat is beyond repair.
