The Bespoke Process

The Consultation

We recommend booking an appointment to begin your bespoke experience, either virtually or in the studio.

You may arrive with a clear vision, a reference image, or simply an idea of how you would like to feel wearing your piece. From there, Jess will guide you through shapes, materials and colours, offering expert advice to create a design that feels both considered and effortless.

If possible, we ask clients to bring their outfit or fabric swatches to the appointment. This allows us to consider colour, silhouette and proportion when trying on pieces and exploring design possibilities.

The Atelier

Following your consultation, your design is developed and handcrafted in our atelier. The process usually involves two to three appointments.

A deposit is taken at the initial consultation, after which the piece is carefully created using traditional millinery techniques. You will then be invited back for a fitting or contacted once the piece is ready for a final try-on.

Each stage is approached with a couture level of craftsmanship, resulting in a piece that is both unique and beautifully made.

The Finishing Touch

Once complete, your piece is fitted and perfected. Any final adjustments are made to ensure comfort, fit and proportion are just right.

Your bespoke hat is then carefully finished and prepared for collection or delivery — ready to be worn with confidence on the day it was created for.

FAQs

Yes, of course! We are happy to correspond by email, sharing images of outfits and samples, or I can take video appointments from here in the studio via Google meet or WhatsApp. We recommend a video appointment to see what will suit you and get an idea of what you need.

Yes, we can. We offer dyeing services to ensure the hat complements your outfit perfectly. For the most accurate match, bringing fabric samples or images helps us achieve your desired colour precisely.

The process can take anywhere between 2 and 4 weeks. Please note that this is also subject to peak seasons. To help you feel assured and avoid last-minute stress, we recommend booking as early as possible to get the bespoke process started.

Yes, we can make something last-minute, but this will be subject to surcharges. We usually suggest coming in for Ascot and summer bookings in April/May, as during our peak times, the process can take longer.

The price of your bespoke hat is dependent on the piece and the crafting process. Once you have had a consultation with Jess, we will have an idea of the prices and aim to work within your budget as best as possible. Please be aware that prices are subject to change. We will also take a deposit before going ahead with the hat.

Yes, of course, you can buy anything we have ready-made in the studio or available on the website. We do still advise booking an appointment to try the hats on, as these pieces are not refundable, and it’s always best to make sure you have chosen the perfect one.

No, we are unable to refund or exchange any bespoke hats, as with any of our couture pieces, since these are made to order and take a long time to craft to perfection. So, if your hat is no longer needed, we are unfortunately unable to help you.
