The 2019 Cheltenham Races Style & Hat Guide:

Finding the perfect outfit for any occasion is always a struggle, especially when it’s an event like Cheltenham festival. As style is always a not so subtle undertone to the British races it’s important to get it right! We thought we’d pop together a quick and simple style guide on how to look country chic this Cheltenham festival. We’ve drawn upon some of our own favourite classic looks and some of our fave celebs. One Simple rule though is always keep it simple. Don’t go too over the top for Cheltenham, a chic hat and an elegantly tailored coat never goes a miss, just add a small splash of JCM fun for these races.

A Classic Country Gal:
Keeping it classic is always a great rule for Cheltenham. Use Fancesca Cumani for inspiration, we LOVE how she graces the races with her style. Her stylist Sarah Kate Byrne has the perfect knack of striking a chord somewhere between vintage classic and 2019 chic. She always has a beautiful twist on classic dressing.  Last year she wore a tweed coat in a deep forest green paired with a beautiful Jane Taylor felt button hat.
Our ideal classical Cheltenham look is pictured below, an alexander McQueen two tone trench coat with our Mayfair trilby. This would be guaranteed to be an understated country show stopper. If you wanted to add an extra splash of glamour and warmth, simply add a faux fur collar in a deep brown colour for extra luxe.
If you wanted to keep it completely classic however, then you can’t beat the Pippa Middleton look. Pair a tailored navy wool coat with our Phoenix Fedora in navy, adorned with our signature star pin.
A Country Animal
Leopard print and other animal prints are still very on trend this season yet have a timeless feel. Where better for them then than in the countryside wilderness?
A little tip though, to break up all off that beautiful print, pair prints wit bold block colours. So if you have a leopard coat, pair with our camel coloured Phoenix fedora or Black Phoenix fedora for a timeless and elegant look.
With our gorgeous Cheltenham Leopard hat we would pair it with a deep pink tailored coat and choose the pink velvet band trim option to make sure it stood out as the show stopper it is!
The (Faux) Fur Queen:
Another winner for Cheltenham is the fur look. Pippa Middleton last year wore a beautiful deep brown fur hat with a sunshine yellow coat. We loved this classic yet fun pairing for this festival, it’s exactly what we’re about!
Our perfect fur queen pick would be our two tone Trilby with a fur pom pom. Pop this with any fur trimmed coat and feel luxurious all festival long.
Or alternatively if you want to do a more slouchy, cosy Cheltenham look, add one of our fluffy angora berets in a fun colour to an over sized jumper, an over coat and some knee high boots.

And… enjoy the races! We hope its going to a style studded year.
